Why Mental Health Is Important?

According to the World Health Organization, suicide is the second leading cause of death among 15-29 year olds globally. In the United States, suicide is the 10th leading cause of death and the rates have been increasing in recent years. Risk factors for suicide include mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety, substance abuse, and a history of trauma or abuse.
Additionally, factors such as access to firearms, social isolation, and a lack of access to mental health resources can also contribute to suicide risk.

Mental health is important because it affects how we think, feel, and behave in our daily lives. It plays a role in determining our ability to handle stress, make choices, and build relationships. Good mental health allows us to enjoy life and to deal with the challenges that come our way.

Poor mental health can lead to a range of problems, such as difficulty in maintaining relationships, lower productivity at work or school,
and an increased risk of physical health problems.
Ensuring good mental health is vital for overall well-being.

Health Organization (WHO) states that there is no health without mental health. Our capacity is depend on our mental health. It is the source of our collective and individual ability as people to reach our full potential.

Mental health refers to the way in which we are aware of our own abilities so we can cope well with the difficulties of life. If person is emotionally balanced than, he can capable of working productively and giving a contribution to his or her community.
A range of factors can affect our emotional well-being. These include genetics, prolonged stress, physical illness and shocking events. Environmental issues such as the economic, political and social climate can also have an impact.

Mental wellness refers to a state of well-being in which an individual is able to cope with the normal stresses of life, work productively, and make a contribution to their community. It is a positive sense of emotional and spiritual well-being that respects the importance of culture, equity, and social justice.

It is also characterized by the ability to feel good about oneself, have good relationships with others, and have a sense of purpose or meaning in one's life. Maintaining mental wellness often involves managing stress, getting enough sleep, eating well, exercising regularly, and seeking support when needed.
